I started Capital Tower Ltd in 1989 – albeit under a slightly different guise at the time. It was a natural step from my role as a senior consultant at a major insurance company; where I was able to meet many successful Financial Advisers and formulate the approach that Capital Tower has taken. Key to this is my desire to keep Capital Tower at the forefront of our industry, and to be the best we can. Hence we were the first adviser locally to have our own in house compliance department, to recommend an investment platform instead of one company; and subsequently use Wrap accounts.
Over the years I am pleased to have built up a great team of people who work with me. Many of these have been with me from the very early days. The same is true of many of our clients. This long term relationship remains the most rewarding aspect of what we do and reminds us all that our business is about people not money. My desire to be the best I can means that I am constantly researching new ideas and reading industry books. My general love of books and music also provides some of the lighter parts of our Market Commentary.
What "spare time" I have is devoted to my wife Pam and twins Joshua and Sophie. This involves me in many activities such as sports (having "volunteered" to coach my son's football team) and general leisure/taxi activities, but still leaves a little time for quieter moments.
